- Radz Good Lookin Q1688 USA 4583906 (Radz) arrived from Australia
in June 2004
- March 2005 - AQHA-NZ Yearling Futurity Champion
- August 2005 - right front leg very badly injured, we did not know if he
would be sound on it
- May 2006 - started under saddle, had 30 days riding, still not 100% sound,
showing a lot of natural ability, athleticism, balance & softness
- May 2007 - brought back into work for 10 days, going beautifully, seems
to be sound on leg however there is a slight restriction of the movement in
right front leg
- September 2007 - dragged out of paddock, 5 rides before getting video (a
copy of this video is available if requested) and recent pictures
(above) done. Needed that time to try and get some weight off him!
- Comments from Jozette: Radz has a lot of natural ability and
has a very trainable mind. With the small amount of riding he has had he is
far ahead of most horses with the same amount of riding (keeping in mind that
with his first 30 rides his injured leg was not totally sound, but he still
did everything I asked of him with no resistance). He is a quiet easy-going
horse. 12 September we dragged him out of the paddock and down to the wash
bay with mares all around in the barn area, and he just stood there quietly
like a gelding as we washed & trimmed & fiddled to get him spruced
up for photos & video (as he has just been running out in the paddock
uncovered & was rather a mess!)
I love riding him as he is so smooth and soft with a beautiful quality to
his movement. He is so easy to teach, so it is a pleasure to work with him.
He also shows excellent athletic ability which is a real plus for me. To look
at he is stunning, he has an absolutely gorgeous head, strong body with beautiful
muscling. And he has wonderful bone - something that lacks in a lot of Quarter
Horses. Injury aside - he is built to be sound and strong.
- His sire Tall Dark n Radical was imported from
the USA to Australia. He has been extremely successful himself (a multiple
Halter & Pleasure Champion) and is producing many Performance and Halter
champions. Some of the well known ones being: GB Radical Minnie (NZ), Ima
Radical Dream, Ima Radical Special, Lets Jet Radical, Tall Dark N Okay, Radison
to name a few.
- His dam is Blue Denim Zokay - with Performance and Halter champions on her
top and bottom line and a performance winner herself, he couldn't go wrong
with a dam like this one.
